Thailand's roads: Who's in charge of the motorbike then?

Thailand's roads: Who's in charge of the motorbike then?

A Bangkok resident took an amusing picture of two people and a dog on a motorcycle in a downtown area.

She posed the question: "Who's in charge then?"

Both adults were engrossed on their mobile phones while the dog seemed to be taking more interest in the road ahead.

The picture was posted on the page of Teresa Proctor a long term resident of Bangkok who works as an art teacher at an International School in the city.

I think the vehicle that they inevitably will end up rear-ending will actually be in charge.   It's the dog I feel sorry for

Stupid is as stupid does and they will probably have an accident soon but they don't care they are 'Thai'.

It's obvious to a trained eye the dog is driving, no fine.

Are they driving or holding still ?

I always let my dog drive, unless he's drunk.

That would be irresponsible.

Most dogs drive better than Thais anyway

They are stationary.  Not moving at all.  If they were then I'd agree stupid - stupid - stupid.

However, if they are intending to move (traffic lights?) then where's their helmets.

Yes, according to another thread here somebody got fined for just sitting on his bike without a helmet on. (The poster was quite angry about it, but the TV crowd had no sympathy). So where are the police? I see 3 fines for no helmets.

Just how much does your dog drink?

If he drinks too much, have you thought of enrolling him in CA?
