Can anybody confirm with credible source hours of operation of Ban Packard/Pailin/ Pon Nam Bong border for 2018 EVENING stamp run? (moderators please ;)

I posted before, but my post wasn't very good...and I need and answer pretty much immediately...so here it goes again!

I'm leaving Pattaya at 15:30 PM for a border stamp run, not a visa run. 30 days on arrival.

Border is:

- Ban Packard/Pailin/ Pon Nam Bong (not sure what it's called exactly!)

So I have 3 questions:

- What are the hours of operation on BOTH sides, I want to come back the same day.

- I've heard that they might try to force you to stay overnight...but I'm coming by taxi, so NEED to come back same day, is it true that simply paying 300 baht is fine to come back in same day?

- Before I went there, and an agency was offering to do documents and paperwork, will they be there in the evening?

Thank you for all other answers on my other post, but I think this post is a lot clearer and to the point;)

Best I can say is driving distance is about 240 kilometre so perhaps max 3 hours. That would get you there at sa 6.30pm.

In general borders crossings are 8am to 8 pm. Should in theory be possible to do.

I've tried to google it and the only info I can't find is on opening/closing times.

Sorry, best I can do.

  • 20:00 is the usual closing time for land borders.
  • You don’t need to stay overnight, but usually have to pay extra to do a same day exit/entry.

I think you’re asking for problems travelling that late to do a same day ‘visa run’. Better to leave Pattaya earlier.
