You can find all sort of things in Thailand that are nto legal and which yo ucan end up in jail for.

Cannabis oil  is not legal currently in Thailand.

Rangsit Univ School of Pharmacilogy is doing research on it and they have permission to use it for that purpose, that is the only legal use at present in Thailand,.

yaba is everywhere, you just have to see the news... but an item without THC that could help with pain is still outlawed... would you think it might cut in the millions or even billions some government generals are making in this country? thailand has almost same amount of generals as the USA and thousands overhere are millionairs on their salary... mhhhhhhh

The oil that healthfoodthailand sells is made from seeds,  seeds contain no THC as it's from the flowering stage....  So way way too different things... Plus industrial hemp already has such low THC value and I saw under the law of 1% THC.

Now CBd is Cannabanoids which is the healing chemical compound within the plant of cannabis,  and the other compound is THC most people who's not sick like this one much more...  That's all folks...

And, as has been explained already in this thread, it is currently illegal except for research purposes (which requires special license).

It is looking like medical use of cannaboids in some form will likely be legalized here but it is going to take time (years, not weeks or months) and will likely be hospital pharmacy-only once it is.

post on where to obtain CBD oil has been removed in keeping with forum rules on illegal activity. Please refer to beginning of this thread, post 13 in particular. It is a this time still illegal in Thailand.

How about Lazada, is that a legal source?

No, since this can only legally be sold/provided to people with a license from the FDA to do research. If what they are selling actually contains CBD they are in violation of the law. As would we be if we posted the link.

CBD oil does not contain the psycho-active ingredient THC which gives the Cannabis users their buzz, Medical Marijuana is not legal in UK but CBD oil is available over the counter in health food stores.

What you are using is an extract from the hemp plant, I'm no expert but what you are taking is also used to make rope.

Sheryl is an authority here and I'd never disagree with her but distinction between Cannabis and Cannibinol, could be similar to comparing Cocaine to Coffee/chocolate.

Thailand has recently licensed Hemp farming for processing into this oil for medical purposes, while its availability may be round the corner - I wouldn't want to be caught by a naive customs official that thinks you are some sort of junky.

It can offer relief in Parkinsons disease diskensia + I'm sure many other real medical benefits

I just don't think you should chance it right now.

Yeah you'd have to be daft, desperate or both to chance it. Realistically though, what would the punishment be if caught importing the stuff? I know what the law says, but it's rare to get a maximum sentence. For example, I've never heard of someone getting caught with a little of weed and getting 5 years in jail.

It's probably an IPS targeted advert, so wherever you live in the world, the country of origin will change. This is my guess anyway. You don't use a VPN I take it?

According to Khaosod yesterday, medical marijuana will be available for some ailments in 9 months time.

"Medical marijuana will be available in Thailand nine months from now, a top health official announced Tuesday.

After the cabinet moved to legalize the use of medical cannabis, Sophon Mekthon of the Public Health Ministry said the law will come into effect April 2019.

He said that the junta-appointed legislature accepted his office’s proposal last month on a schedule to implement the policy following successful testing of cannabis to treat several conditions."

As much as that would be awesome news if true, it's still vague as usual lol.
Would it be available only in hospitals, and what conditions would it be granted for.
Would it literally be cannabis flower, or would it be oil, sprays etc
Would you need a license or just a prescription from a doctor

A university in Thailand is currently testing some products, we can assume it would be these products not flowers, and I think it safe to assume it would be a prescription drug, what license could it be?

Like in the US in some states, you need a green card (license) to be able to purchase from places.
This is a step in the right direction, and maybe CBD oil, with it's next to no THC values will also be brought in soon after for the public.

OK, I had a read about it and it seems an odd way to go about it, surely better to regulate a product and issue prescriptions, the green card scheme seems to be about circumventing the typical testing phases and allowing patients to self regulate.

I just want to add an update to this topic.

I regularly order dietary supplements from a popular supplier in the US and have them shipped to Thailand. In a recent order, I included 360 gel caps of CBD Oil, not even thinking about the legality of having this product shipped to Thailand at the time. After realizing what the implications may be, I began doing some research on what might happen if the shipment raised a flag with Customs, which led me to this thread. Most of what I found was negative on the subject without much substantiation. After reading the post from Xaos on page one of this thread, I went to the Thai FDA website ( http://permitfortraveler.fda.moph.go.th/) and completed the form using "CBD Oil and cannabidiol" as the keys, printed out the results and took it with me to Customs when notified that the package had arrived. I knew the package had been flagged by Customs as I had 2 other packages from the same shipment arrive at my house without delay. The flagged package was delayed by 2 weeks from the arrival of the other packages in the shipment.

When I arrived at Customs and as expected, the package had been flagged because of the CBD Oil. The Customs officer knew the story about CBD Oil and was hesitant to release it to me without substantiation. That is when I showed her the FDA form which she referred to as an "aww paw" in Thai and I told her that the CBD Oil was for personal use, at which point she relented and let me have the shipment.  The key to getting the CBD Oil was having the "aww paw" to present to her. She even said that if I didn't have this document, I would not have gotten the CBD Oil.

As a side note, when you just click Print in your web browser, it will not print the headers and footers on the web page. This is where the official logos are for the FDA. I wanted the logos to appear on the hard copy, so I used a screen capture program to grab the entire page, saved it to a PDF file, then printed that, including the headers and footers. Sure enough, the Customs officer took one look at the logo at the top of the page and accepted the document as an aww paw and not a forgery.

We all know of the sometimes erratic nature in which Thai laws are enforced from place to place and sometimes from day to day. This is just my anecdotal experience, YMMV.

The website form will print out allowed because they do nto have those precise words on the controlled substance list.

However, TV members who have called or emailed the FDA Narcotics Bureau have been told clearly it is NOT legal, and customs will get the same answer if they call. So I suggest you hold off on future shipments for now.

Hey guys first post here,

I've been suffering with seizures for the past 10 years and ahve been living in Thailand for the past 15 years... Is there a way to formally apply or go see if I would be eligible for medical testing/ or however people are getting treatment so early in testing phase?

Sincere question and i hope this thread hasn't been dead long enough to not get a reply!

Best regards, Jara

The research is being done by Rangsit University School of Pharmacy. Last I heard (April of this year) they did not yet have the necessary legal clearance to proceed to clinical trials on humans. The problem is that it is still listed as a category 5 narcotic which precludes medical use. It needs either a change of law or a special dispensation from the govt, either will take some time.

I don't have any contact info on the researchers but you could try googling.

No you will not.

Cannabis and Cannabidiol Aka CBD are 2 different things.

The responses for cannabis and cannabis oil are very different. response:

Cannabis

Prohibited Narcotics

Narcotics

The drug is classified as a narcotic drug of category 1, 4, or 5 according to Narcotics Act B.E. 2522. The importation of narcotic drugs of category 1, 4, or 5 is prohibited. The prohibition includes the cases that patients carry those medications for personal use during traveling. For this reason we cannot issue the permit for anyone to carry narcotic drugs in category 1, 4, or 5 for personal use.

I have also done it for cannabis oil and this is a very different response:

General drug Cannabis Oil CBD

The drug is not classified as a narcotic drug or psychotropic substance according to Narcotics Act B.E. 2522. Therefore, a patient under treatment can carry this medication into Thailand for personal use in a quantity NOT EXCEEDIND 30 DAYS OF PRESCRIBED USAGE.

The application for a permit from Thai FDA does not required

Cannabis cointain thc

Cannabidol no thc
