South African lions eat 'poacher', leaving just his head

A suspected big cat poacher has been eaten by lions near the Kruger National Park in South Africa, police say.

The animals left little behind, but some body parts were found over the weekend at a game park near Hoedspruit.

"It seems the victim was poaching in the game park when he was attacked and killed by lions," Limpopo police spokesman Moatshe Ngoepe told AFP.

I hope the lions didn't get indigestion.  People have a lot of weird chemicals in them, in large part due to the junk food they eat.

Maybe the reason they didn't eat the head was; the guy had some Thai whitening-cream smeared on it, and the lions thought it smelled too chemically weird.

true story: just 2 days ago, I was at an elephant camp, and bought a 20 baht plastic bag full of sugar cane bits to feed them.  I handed out one here, one there.  A large female reached out her trunk and took the entire bag - even though I tried to resist - I even lightly punched her trunk, but it didn't phase her at all.  Her trunk is stronger than all the muscles in my body combined.  She ate the plastic bag also.

The Black Leopard could have feasted on our Thai

poacher for a month, on his belly alone.

No doubt the victim was actually a Lion lover that just came to pay his respects.

Reminds me of the story about the game warden and his son who saw two lions lying in the sun and one lion was licking the others rear end.

Why is it doing that? asked the son.

Warden replied, he's just eaten a poacher and is trying to get the taste out of his mouth.
