January 21, 200719 yr I'm here in Manado now. It was a freaky event. There was no rumble, and rather than shake us, the quake swayed us. It was a little difficult to maintain balance, so after getting into an open area, many people sat down. We didn't know if big things would fall, or power lines would snap. But nothing broke. After about 10 minutes, the media advised us to get to high ground, in case of Tsunami. If I knew better, I would have done so as soon as walking was possible, as Tsunamis travel at about 500 kliks an hour, and can travel far up coastal mountains. The area was un-nerved. But we are all fine.
