webfact
Black panther’s leg bones found in stream By Thai PBS Forest rangers have found the leg bones of the ill-fated black panther in the stream next to the camp of Premchai Karnasuta’s hunting party in the western zone of Thung Yai Naresuan world heritage site. Mr Chaiwat Limlikhit-aksorn, head of the Phya Sua (Tiger) task force, said Wednesday that forest rangers went back to the camp site in search of more evidence against the hunting party. Divers dived into Prachee stream near the campsite and managed to retrieve parts of the innard and two bones believed to be the leg bones of the panther which went missing in initial searches. rkidlad
It’s great that they’re collecting so much evidence and being so methodical, but this fat <deleted> is still out on bail. In fact, do we even know where he is?
yellowboat
It is highly reassuring that they are taking this so seriously. They are not giving this poacher's attorneys any opportunity to cast doubt on the validity of the charges. It is a bad time for the privileged in Thailand to say "let them eat cake".

I wouldn't be surprised if Fatso soon goes on another nature trip - probably to Cambodia, on his way to self-inflicted exile. Within five years there'll be more Thais living outside the country escaping justice (i.e. running away) than there are locals here in Thailand. 1

Morch
There are times when going with biblical justice doesn't sound too bad - an eye for an eye, a leg for a leg?

The one who is the very first name mentioned in this article (about 21 words in). Connect the dots. A lot of dumb questions being asked on TV today. Airbagwill
His permit is claimed to have been issued by a retired DNP official. Although this incident is being portrayed as an heroic action by an underpaid ranger, it is avoiding the main issues surrounding the DNP's guardianship of the nation's natural resources. Lack of funding, poor recruitment due to low wages, subsequent mismanagement and susceptibility to graft and corruption, means that this huge natural resource is constantly under threat from all sides and even within. Successive governments simply don't take conservation seriously. A one off incident like this is great publicity the fingers They are winning, when in fact they are sliding into a hole of apathy and destruction. The entire management of Thailand's national parks needs to be completely refunded, reorganised and rethought. A classic example is the admissionsbpolicy which technically can still allow people in for the purposes of hunting....... aphilosophyvtotally at odds with true conservation. Another example is the dual pricing system that does virtually nothing to help raise funds but is stuck to by an unthinking management who seem to shun science in favour of nape of the neck thinking when it comes to running over 120 protected areas and nearly a quarter of the country. The guy is just a symptom of a much bigger problem or successor attitude. Big loss of face too......and distinct lack of Kreng jai in this instant too.
