Condo owners learn how to enforce rules

PATTAYA:--Chonburi lawyers offered condominium owners advice on how to legally enforce their rules during a seminar in Pattaya.

Parat Hiransirisombat, director of the Chonburi Provincial Legal Execution Office, opened the Feb. 8 workshop on civil law enforcement for dozens of condo owners and managers.

Speakers included Parat, chief inspector Pawadee Sirimetarak, Chalermwat Wimuktayana, president of the Pattaya Lawyers Council, and Eakapong Thaikla from the Chonburi Provincial Land Office.

Together they tried to impart knowledge and understanding about use of the Civil Procedure Code and its amendments, and to make participants understand its provisions and explanatory memorandums in each section.

Additionally, participants shared opinions and engaged in a question-and-answer session with Legal Execution Department staffers.

That may have been an interesting seminar. Enforcing rules is rarely done very well in Thailand, if at all.

Perhaps the Land Office would like to schedule another such event in English for the benefit of farang condo owners, and announce it before it happens? I would attend.

Perhaps the lawyers could offer their expertise in enforcing rules, to the BiB.

Surprised they could find three lawyers agreeing on what the rules are.  Every dealing I've had with a Thai lawyer in the last twelve years has been unsatisfactory.  Their advice varies according to the moon.  The only constant is the price.

We are facing some serious issues with our condo management.  We took them to the court and had our first annual general meeting.  The votes were manipulated enough to get the old wine in the new bottle.  I have a question for people here.  Can we gomto a criminal court here in Thailand directly?  In our country, only the law enforcement agencies can file a case in the criminal court.

Thanks in advance.
