If a retirement visa/extension is processed in Bangkok can the renewal be applied for in the new location i.e. Chiang Mai a year later? Don't really want to have to go back to Bangkok for renewal.

I was using the Pattaya office until last November. I had moved to Loei so I went to Chiang Khan and had no problem.

I got my first extention in BKK and all subsequent ones in Chiang Mai. Now you can even change visa status in Chiang Mai from tourist to non-o to year extention. Probably you can do it in any branch office of immigration as they are now linked by computer.
