BANGKOK, 26 February 2018 (NNT) – The Minister of the Interior believes the government’s “Thai Niyom Yangyuen” initiative is the answer to social problems in Thailand.

Interior Minister Gen Anupong Paochinda said yesterday a total of 7,500 teams consisting of government officials, local administrative officers, community leaders, and volunteers have been sent out to all corners of Thailand to survey people’s needs and struggles, as part of the sustainable Thai-ism initiative, aka Thai Niyom Yangyuen. The move will allow the central government to pursue policies and measures to assist those in need.

According to the minister, most problems worrying members of the public concern their wellbeing, income, and the lack of professional skills.

Gen Anupong then asked all sides to be optimistic about the country’s future and continue to follow in the footsteps of HM the late King Bhumibol.

Gen Anupong reiterated that he believes the Thai Niyom Yangyuen program is the key to resolving all existing issues through cooperation between the government, the private sector, and the general public.

Thai Niyom is the answer to all existing social problems? Who would have thought it would be so easy. These guys should be ruling the world...

Congratulating yourself long before achieving anything.  He just wants his limelight time.  It would be the first achievement of the junta after four years achieving nothing.

To me this all smacks of social and political control/ surveillance: dispatching junta agents all over the country to 'explain' to the people (the true holders of rightful sovereignty in Thailand) how they should think, what they should say, how they should 'vote' (perish the thought!), and generally monitoring the populace (keeping tabs on those who are likely to dissent).

One thing is for sure: this bunch of morally lobotomised hoodlums (the faux-elite) with bombs, bullets and tanks have ZERO genuine concern for the welfare, well-being, freedom and progress of the Thai people.

The answer to the public's worry about health, income and lack of skills is: don't worry, be happy and do what you've always done.

many are worried that their graft money has been reduced lately

...as much as Buddhism created a peaceful society living in constant harmony?

I think he meant country's 'non-democratic Junta' future

Throwing money, which is the essence of this, the Junta's latest populist "scheme" rarely solves any problems.

I’m just glad that the kook aid wasn’t completely wasted.
