BANGKOK — The foreign affairs ministry on Monday handed a formal protest to the Gambian government after one of its minister reportedly suggested tourists looking for sex should go to Thailand.

I strongly recommend to the FM to organize a staff group tour to visit Pattaya, Bangla Road in Phuket, Loykroh Road in Chiang Mai, Nana Plaza, Patpong, Soi Cowboy, the "massage" parlors along Ratchada

If they feel displeasured maybe they should visit a Thai massage in Senegal, I'm sure they have them there. Ask for extras.

Culture minister Veera Rojpojchanarat suggested sex tourism used to be prevalent but has since dropped because of the country’s focus on “morality.”

Thailand has a well earned world famous quality reputation as an exotic, erotic, chaotic destination for travelers seeking new horizons.

Ah, the wretched truth. No Thai can handle it.

Thailand is picking a fight with its equal . 55555, just some weeks ago Britain made the same remarks about Thailand and they were quiet . 5555

"(Gambian) Culture minister Veera Rojpojchanarat suggested sex tourism used to be prevalent but has since dropped because of the country’s focus on “morality.” "...lol

Well its difficult to have a' sex tourism' industry if all the tourists stop coming to your country because :

1. your crackpot dictator says they don't need them and the west is the cause of all their problems,

2. you follow this with an election where the sitting dictator of 22 years refuses to step down bring the country to the bring of civil war.

.....yes sounds a lovely place to relax.

It's all a typical Thai misunderstanding. Culture minister Veera Rojpojchanarat must have been told he represents the Vatican State and still believes it.

No sex tourists and no prostitutes here in Thailand. Only culture.:coffee1:

At first, when I read point number 1, I thought you were referring to you know who.  Also with point number 2 until you mentioned the 22 years instead of just 4, although it does seem a bit like 22 years.

We want "outrage", "displeasure" just doesn't cut it. Other than that, pretty fast response...

And then consider the scene for locals is bigger than all the above mentioned combined, and is available in every country around the world. It's never going away.

He's only stated the obvious.

Thai government should learn to keep quiet. They are only making the news bigger. Hypocrisy at its best. Thailand is a sex tourism country. Everyone knows that why denying the truth.

Think that you have totally missed the point. It's about Thailand's denial

Well spoken Sir. Why don't they just shut up and enjoy the massive revenue that comes this way. Not deny it. Not condone it openly. Just ignore it

You seem to have a hands on knowledge of these sexual stomping grounds perhaps you might give a financial services analysis also in the interest of tourism of course.

Thailand wants to be the "HUB" of everything...So...why they protest now?...
