papa knows an old guy on the dark side with one.

It's in pretty nice shape.

His health is going down and he'd probably sell.

PM me your ph#.

Although this ad below does not say 150cc , 2 stroke, you can see the radiator from the photos.

I bet he takes any offers now, he has been trying to sell it for a while and brought the price down:

It's funny he fails to mention what the bike spec is, think the buyer will be that stupid or blind, amazing, people advertising like that... !!!?

Great bike!

Well the engine is essentially the same as an NSR 150R(R) or 150SP.  OK I'm sure the porting is different but...

Exact what did you have in mind for the motor? It will be hard to find a different pipe for it. R, RR or SP might have a different size carb?

If you go too far you'll lose what little bottom end you have.

You can buy a high compression head for it. That might help. Cleaning out the exhaust will help.

How much do you think you will need to spend?

Go to Bira race track on a Monday morning. Find the retired German guy working on bikes and wearing no shirt. Ask him if he knows a good 2-stroke mechanic.

If all you want is s new set of rings or a new barrel and piston Honda should be able to do that.

Did OP indicate that he wanted to modify the bike?

I would consider a little mod but I don't really want to loose what torque it has for massive power at 10000rpm, it just needs a bit of fettling I suspect possibly a piston and barrel and the RC servo sorted which seems not to be working, it's still rideable but not as good top end so someone who knows and loves these amazing little engines would be the answer, I can weild a spanner but big diesels are my thing and besides it's too hot, thanks for all the help so far, it's really appreciated ?

RC servo will help low end torque quite a bit.

A new carb can do wonders too - yours most probably the stocker, and carbs do wear out.

Does it have one throttle cable or 2 - a pull open pull closed setup ?

Can not go wrong with a new Mikuni - I put on all my bikes. Easy to set up, parts everywhere.

The exhaust pipe is most probably full of carbon. May help to remove it.

Full synthetic 2 stroke oil will cut down on carbon buildup a lot.

Thanks for that, yep it's the original carb and it's a single cable pull type, I think there is oil lines going to the carb to, so I guess it would be a like for like replacement, I'm sure the exhaust will be full of carbon, I must look into synthetic oil for it, as an aside I once owned a Norton Commando and appalled the purists by binning the twin carbs and fitting a single Mikuni, it idled lovely and pulled like a train, the rest of it was still crap though! Thanks for your suggestions all food for thought, people think I'm mad but I love keeping old stuff going and its perfect for me when I'm here.

One of the best, if not the best, Commando mod....

The best Brit twins for the street are single carb versions of Enfield, BSA, Norton, and Triumph...

Just that, particularly Triumph, with the splayed head, the twin carbs look great parked up....

If you can read Thai (or use Google Translate) here is another two Phantom 150cc cheap options (if not expired old ads):

Thanks for the help guys, unfortunately I have to head back home tomorrow night but I will keep looking back here and keep a look out for that elusive Phantom Ta150 lying somewhere, preferably without a book or damaged but complete and also any more suggestions for a good 2 stroke specialist would be appreciated, thanks again ?

Im a 2 stroke person..Currently have 5 and recently sold 4 others including 2 NSR150SPs..

A Thai mate picked up one of those phantoms in vgc for 5k.

I didnt know they had similar mtrs to the nsr, but for sure they tuned it for more tractible power.

Good luck with the hunt, i dont think thais rate that model so they should be cheap..

Thanks for that hopefully I'll find one, I thought I had the other day there is a really rough one covered in dust at the back of the dealer in Pattaya Thai, it was there last year this time and they wanted 17k then, after much persuasion this year they told me they would sell it, the price? 20k of course and no offer considered ? I suppose the face the tyres are now perished and flat plus the thick layer of dust and debris has added 3k, I've been in the motor trade all my life but these people amaze me, keep an eye out folks a 5k one would be lovely ?
