Stay Or Not To Stay

Featured Replies

Hello,

I've stayed in Thailand longer than 6 months (as tourist (30 day arrival visa every time).

I stay in Bangkok and I used to cross the border at Poipet each month.

I have to do a visarun again soon, but what options do I have?

Do I need to get a visa, if so, can I apply for a 2 months visa on arrival without any problem at the Thai immigration(border) at Poipet (Aranyaprathet)?

Or can I get a 2 months visa at the border in Pedang Besar?

And what are the visafees?

Thanks in advance for reply

(I'm Dutch and not yet 30 years old)

1st Class Visa Runs in Pattaya are offering to take you to Malaysia for a 3 month tourist visa for 18,500 baht. This price is supposed to include any extra border runs with them for the next 6 months until you need to renew again in another six months time.

Yes, you need to get a visa of some sort as it seems you've used up your 90 days worth of visa exemption. Visas are only available at Thai embassies or consulates, NOT at border crossing points.

Have a look at the various threads regarding tourist visas from Penang, KL, Singapore etc.

You can go with Jack Golf's tourist visa tour to Laos. The cost is 6500THB and includes everything, transport, accom, meals, Loas visa, Thai tourist visa, insurance, etc. You leave at 10pm day 1 and arrive back to Bangkok at 10pm on day 3, so it only takes 48 hours and then you have a tourist visa. good for 60 days plus a 30 day extension, followed by 3 visa runs to Poi Pet and you have 6 months here.
