If I get a retirement visa, what kind of visa would my 40 year old Filipina wife get? Is it just tourist or other kind of long term visa?

Tourist. Unless she can afford an elite visa.

If you have an extension of stay based upon retirement from immigration or have a OA visa from an embassy your wife can get an extension based upon her being your spouse. She will first need to get a single entry non-o visa at a embassy or consulate.

It has been possible since August of 2014 when a new police order went into effect.

For an extension of stay it has been possible for a very long time.

You apply for a one year extension of stay at immigration here.

A OA visa can only be issued at embassy or official consulate in your home country or country of legal residence. A OA visa allows unlimited 1 year entries for a year from the date of issue.

Thank you for all of your assistance. I will see about getting her visa. As soon as we sell this property here in the US, we are out of here! This place is getting horrible!!!
