Fibre broadband in Bangkok True/AIS/3BB which is better

Featured Replies

Hi guys, i would love to have some feedback on the fibre broadband service providers here in bangkok.

I'm currently on a 50mbps fibre broadband with True but i find that the speed is still way too slow. (Keep having breakdowns e.g no internet/ router keeps restarting etc etc)
I torrent lots of stuff too thus i have decided to upgrade or change my fibre....

I happened to come across some fibre packages like -
- Truemove 200mpbs package @ 1399

- 3BB 200mpbs package @ 1200
- AIS 100mpbs package @ 1099

The prices are quite reasonable for True and 3BB plan so any recommendations?
Thanks in advance!

This at least is consistent with so many reports in the forum.

You better not expect something better by paying for 200 Mbit/s package.

I can't comment on Bangkok specifically, just that AIS fiber got a lot of good comments.

I am using 3BB and its been good for me, i download a lot.

Before 3bb would limit how much i could download in the evening, now they don't.

You will find that it is not entirely a question of the provider.

First, I find that 3BB continues to have the best international bandwidth of all the providers.

However, at my current location, True provides the best "local" bandwidth.

In general, your house will be connected to a "neighborhood" (local) router.

Depending on the number of connections there, and it's capacity, you can get choked before you ever really get out to the Internet. In my neighborhood, for whatever reason, everyone agrees AIS is best, so everyone gets AIS Fibre. I got both True and AIS, and True is delivering 40% better speeds. I presume because everyone is connected to the local AIS router, and the bottleneck is right there.
