Hi

I was in Thailand on a non o visa as a parent issued in August 2017 in Laos.  (Took train there and back) then extended that a further 60 days  at a local office in thailand and left thailand end of December when it expired.

I then tried to get same non o in London in feb but was informed prior to submitting any paperwork that only tourist visa would be provided in London. I opted to just get tourist visa which ends at end of this month.

Am I ok to do as follows?

Extend my current TV by 30 days at local office and when that expires can I head to Laos (by train) get a non o as parent and then when that expires, extend a further 60 days?

Any advice appreciated as always.

Yes you can.

You should be able to extend the tourist visa entry (as a parent) by 60 days too, before going out for the Non ‘O’.

Really, that is brilliant news. So the 60 day tourist visa I was issued in London can be extended a further 60 days at a local office in thailand as a parent and then I can go to laos get a 90 day non o and extend that 60. So basically if I follow that plan I'm good for a total of 9 months from my arrival in feb?

Yes.

Also, technically you can apply for a 30 day extension (tourism) of the tourist visa entry, and then apply for a 60 day extension (parent). This isn’t often requested so it would come down to your local offices local policy.

Thanks, understand it may be slightly different in some offices. Appreciate your input as always.
