Up here in Bangkok  Kao San rd and surrounds is packed with farang tourists young and old.. Never seen it so busy.  Maybe it has something to do with cheap food  ie  40 -50 baht for Phad Thai or noodles etc. Clothes are still a rip off though.  Thais buy all that junk at BoBe night auctions and also road freight in from Burma.

I can buy better quality t-shirts ,shorts and footwear at flea markets  back home in OZ for less money!!

 

Apparently Surit Thani province is full of Chinese tourists but few farangs about. Maybe farangs are sick of being shafted all the time down south.

 

Yep, fly in and enjoy yourself then fly home and plan the next fun experience. 

 

I've lived in Thailand, I holiday regularly there and IMO it's fantasy land for we farangs. 

Only tourists are welcome in LoS,  everything is stacked against a farang retiring there.

Mind you i see a first the other day,  one of them was buying some deodorant in the

Yes the Chinese independent tourists have increased. Great news if you love Chinese food.

I hope they all stay in Pattaya. That city suits them. Stay away from the rest of the country.

I live in Cosy Beach year around and most of my neighbors are Russian couples and families. From my experience, they are better mannered than some of my countrymen who drink and do other things in excess.

 

While those I meet are generally not prone to smiling or holding a door open, I've yet to meet one who has just vomited in the lift or urinated in a doorway. Perhaps it has to do with the location, lack of bars and more families with children.

I can confirm that the Russians are back here in Naklua. They are walking everywhere , mix them with the Chinese and we have a complete havoc .
