The national police chief said Sunday that the conflict between the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plants Conservation and the police team handling the illegal wildlife hunting case against Italian-Thai boss Premchai Karnasuta was normal and it should be resolved soon.

Pol Gen Chakthip Chaijinda also said that there was no need to replace Pol Gen Srivara Rangsibrahmanakul, the deputy national police chief, who oversees the police team handling the case because there was nothing wrong with the team and Pol Gen Srivara had been doing his job in a straightforward manner.

The police chief said further that he was not worried with the criticism in the social media against Pol Gen Srivara for allegedly delaying the case and biased in favour of the Italian-Thai boss.

Really? One way of explaining the deputy national police chief taking a three-hour trip, just to visit the fat little poacher, then.

... as the polluted air at this time of the year, or the figures of accident victims all around the year. So, nothing needs to be done ...

Why would he replace him? Then he would only expose another corrupt official to public viewing and further expose just how deep the corruption of the police force runs. Better to have to cut off one finger than a whole hand if the thing blows up.
