Prawit again seeks fifth extended time to clarify his pricey watches

Featured Replies

When the next deadline comes he will send his doctor to court  to explain he's too unwell to attend.

When the next deadline looms he'll  claim all the watches have  been stolen.

Case closed.

    the farce continues; defies belief

  • Isn't this now way beyond, beyond, beyond, beyond and beyond a joke? How can the Thai 'officials' and 'reporters' speak of all this stuff with a straight face? And therein lies the whole problem: grov

He not only 'believes' it will just go away - he KNOWS he will 'get away' with it all! The charade has all been worked out behind the scenes by now - and The Pig has nothing to worry about.

Bit of a problem explaining donations when the 'donors' have keeled over and died.

Amazing that a man with so many expensive has such disregard for time! Well, maybe not amazing....face is what counts!

Would make a good Brian Rix farce program!

Just need a few tarts and some trouser dropping to make it a real BR Farce!

I think virtually all Thais are aware of the Prawit farce - they know what he has been up to with his watches - BUT at the end of the day, they basically accept it all (with more or less grumbling).

THAT is the whole problem of the Thais. But as another poster pointed out elsewhere, the younger generation may be getting smarter and more outspoken (via social media, no less!). But will there be enough of them??

Agree that they all are aware. But I do think the jokes wearing a bit thin now, especially given the anti corruption justification for the Junta etc.

But they know that there isn't anything they can do about it, and no one who can do is remotely interested. So they just ignore and carry on. Sad really.

Mocking the nation just like t'other one with his cardboard cut out.

String them up, upside down preferably , save on rope by using more sustainable materials such as ligament/tendons etc.

In the NACCs defence, they probably didn't consider that a man owning 25 watches would be so bad at meeting deadlines.
Thats made my week lol!!!

Time marches on for generals but unfortunately keeps stopping at the eleventh hour.

Just lock him up till he makes a statement.... That way he can request all the delays he wants :P

Similarly, except I couldn't drink it because my mouth was hanging open in utter disbelief. If those in charge of this farce allow it to happen then throw away any little resemmblance of honest government that might possibly be left. It is impossible to explain to any outsider because no one will believe it. Something like 10 to 15 years behind bars, no pension, stripped of all military rank and ALL assets seized, ALL, down to the last satang.

Makes no difference , at the end he will just play a general immunity card

How about, doing everything possible within their authority to avoid having to do anything about the guy and his watches...

Just curious, along the way, has anyone from the NACC ever asked him WHY exactly he needs the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and now 5th extension of time????  Just what exactly would the reason be???

He timed out.

Someone should pass this farce on ...UK Daily Mail would enjoy

Hes not entirely stupid.

Obviously very reluctant to make a statement which can be checked and may later be used against him.

In delaying his response, he is refraining from acknowledging any potential wrongdoing and effectively ignoring or denying any charges or culpability.

I beg to differ, I do actually think he's entirely stupid. The whole thing is stupid. The watches are just the tip of the ice burgh. Of course the Junta are corrupt as hell, everyone knows it, but none of it matters because nothing will happen to them regardless.

This guy is pure slime. He needs to be tossed into jail. He is not above or better than anyone else, but sure thinks he is.

just how long will this farce go on for, still next year he might have to flog some of his watches ha ha, are the THAI  population beginning to smell a rat, if they havent by now there is no hope for them

Of course Thais know the score, they just don't want to go to jail for defamation or LM.

The regime moralizes to the plebs but can't police its own.  That in itself speaks volumes.  Little else needs to be said.  But it's not just Thailand either.  The rich and connected protect the rich and connected - globally.  That's been the way of the world for a long, long time...like it or not.  They will throw one of their own under the bus on occasion, but this isn't one of those occasions.

No, I ask you Mr. Prawit to stop. Stop deceiving your people. Stop stealing massive sums of money. Stop being so incompetent. Stop lying, cheating, stealing and deflecting. Stop! Stop! Get out! Get out! Leave now. Keep just one promise. Is that even possible for you?

The people are getting restless, and you are getting nervous. For good reason. You should be nervous. You are not wanted. You are no good. You are a foul deceiver. You are a fool.

His and Little P's personal motto may as well be - I promise to move Thailand backwards at a breath taking and alarming pace, and never, ever do anything to benefit the Thai people. I will continue to do everything I can to protect the elite, the super wealthy, the connected, and those in office, either in the police, my administration, or the army.

These little men simply do not exist, in my consciousness.

Asking him or any of them to stop is tantamount to asking a bear not to shit in the woods. It's in their DNA.

Yep, and he's right. No one can touch him.

But he said he couldn’t say whether the NACC would give him more time to clarify on the issue

He was clearly told by the NACC no further delays beyond mid March.

This man is completely untouchable.

Truly laughable until you realise that the position he holds allows him to thumb his nose at the legal authorities with impunity.

Then and only then do you realise how serious this really is.

How truly sad for Thailand.

Would be funny if it weren't so disgusting.

Has there been any guestimate of the total worth of this luxury watch collection?

He is quite clearly utterly incompetent. I agree, the watches are just the tip of the Iceberg.

I lost track of the whole watch saga, and now find it is still continueing, so utterly funny.

Yes. Can you imagine what other wealth (in various forms) these national predators have amassed? And people think only the Yingluck/Thaksin governments were corrupt! If the truth were fully revealed about the extent of the theft that has been going on for years by this top military clique, people's jaws would hit the floor - and then some!

And STILL there are those on Thaivisa who think (or pretend to think) that Prayut and his gang are honourable guys who are self-dedicate to ridding Thailand of corruption. Oh pleaaaaaaaase! Even a 10-day-old baby would have more discernment than that!

The end of this story is (Richard) Mi(l)les away...  keep on "Omega" 6 Mr Prawit!!!

There has but what does it matter?

The average Thai just shrug their shoulders and accept it. That is the Thai nature.

Farangs, on the other hand are annoyed - to say the least - to see such disregard for truth, honesty and fair play. Same as Red Bull man.

I think the problem with us, the TVForum members, is that we have our western hat on too much of the time..
