Gunplay earns Sek Loso five days in jail

Controversial rock star Seksant “Sek Loso” Sukpimai was sentenced to five days’ imprisonment on Thursday for discharging a firearm in a Nakhon Si Thammarat temple.

 

The incident recorded on video, during which Seksant fired nine rounds from a pistol into the air, occurred during a concert at the temple in Phrom Khiri district on December 29.

 

He was also convicted of illegally carrying a gun in public.

 

His lawyer, Mongkolvichit Thanasopon, was applying for bail release and said he would contest the sentence in Appeals Court.

I somehow think, I would have got a lot more than 5 days incarceration, had I  discharged a firearm in public !

Again the 2 tier Thai justice system at work !!!Bloody pathetic  !!!

He's got off lightly. Should change his name to Sek Hiso.

5 days 

A benefit concert for the local constabulary should eliminate the need to do 5 days where poor people go!

I don't have a lot of issues with the 5 day sentence. It is enough to drive the point home. But it should have included a very hefty fine, which would likely go further to prevent him doing it again.

I wonder how many months/years that would have been for a farang, or even a normal citizen?

Probably unlucky that he didn't hit an endangered bird flying overhead.

 

The investigation would've taken years.
