I am currently on a visa based on visiting my Thai Spouse which I obtained after my work permit was cancelled. I did not have to depart Thailand when I obtained this 60 day visa.

My questions are:

Do I have to depart Thailand to obtain a B type visa or can I obtain one here as I have been offered a new job here in Thailand? or

Can I get a single or Multy entry B type visa from Cambodia as I will be visiting Phnom Penh next week ?

Thanks.

You will have to leave and I would not count on any visa from Cambodia myself; but surly not a multi entry. Why even look for a B visa if you have a Thai spouse? A non immigrant O based on visiting spouse can be used to obtain work permit and you might be able to obtain a multi entry from Kuala Lumpur or Singapore.

I only have a Thai Bank Account so I can not bring the funds in from abroad. As I understand it the 400,000 THB can not be used as proof if in a Thai bank account.

You do not have to prove any account balance to obtain a single entry non immigrant O visa and even in Singapore, where they say now they want to see proof of 400k to issue a multi entry I am sure a Thai bank account would be entirely satisfactory.

To extend your stay at Immigration would now require a 40k family income with a record of three months. That means income from both may be combined or either spouse may be the source. So if you can meet that criteria at any time one year extensions of stay are available.

If you are in PP next week by all means give it a try if you have required paperwork for a normal B visa issue or O visa issue. But I would not go there specifically for a visa without more positive reports than we have seen on board.

Has anyone on this forum applied for a Non Imm B Type Visa in Cambodia recently?

If so was it issued or were there any problems ?
