No mention of whether he was breathalysed or held in remand I see,

A 500 baht fine and a gentle tap on the wrist is not making much difference after what he has been through.

No they wont pay out if he is charged with DUI

Insurance companies will look for any reason they can find to not payout

And very soon will get 3 points knocked off his license

He will face a bill for damage to government property after hitting the pole.

So, the charge for driving drunk was out of the question?

Break failure again.

TNews said that it was believed that the driver did not fall asleep at the wheel and was probably drunk and unable to control his vehicle.

Same result however

Mostly good news.

The drunken racer didn't harm another person.

Car ruined.

May he survive and have learned a lesson.

Dont think so

He was lucky

The rest of us were unlucky

Can't agree with this. I'd rather see Darwin take control here before he kills someone's kids.

My views aren't always popular but I don't hug trees,  I like drunk boy racers dead.

He could have killed any number of people.  I drove that road last night: ill-lit; crawling with bikes speeding with no lights and NEVER a cop after dark.

HPG modified?

Have to ask but as this is Thailand might get conflicting answers

If it turns out he is DUI and crashes does the insurance still pay out or is it Null and Void and he has to buy new car himself?

Null and void of course, they dont want to payout even if your Sober and it wasnt even your fault.
