Changes at Immigration. Thai Niyom.

Recommended Posts

Just returned from the local office in Bankalapuk today after doing a 90 day report.

I was advised that when I come to make my next extension, due February 2019, that in line with "Thai Niyom" I would be required to submit a photo dressed in traditional Thai costume. Western dress is not acceptable.

Immigration Pol LT Col Sordik Watchalotaporn imformed me that, similar to all rules related to immigration, this policy is to be applied nationwide.

I was futher advised to wear traditional clothing everytime I visit any government office.

I am due to Tax the car at the DLT on Monday, but that will have to be in the afternoon, after my wife sources my clothing.

Be warned, they are serious in regard to this matter. Fines up to B1000 will be levied.

Happy April 1st!

With the latest wonderful stuff coming from the leadership it's totally believable.

And not just them, Crossy!

For instance, I was minded to originate a spoof posting on here stating that British passport applicants were now, with immediate effect, required to provide certified Thai translations of their completed application forms plus all supporting docs (including credit card forms, existing passports and proof of address), solely for the benefit and convenience of locally-employed VFS staff members whose grasp of the English language was minimal.

An outlandish requirement which I strongly suspect that HMPO are, in practice, more than capable of inflicting on us long-suffering Brits at some stage.

If the 90 day report had just been completed how could the next report be February 2019?  People are not reading/calculating correctly or they would be aware this is not for real unless the poster made an error, which is probably doubtful.
