The Ministry of Commerce said inflation rate for March this year rose by 0.79% year-on-year,  a sustained nine month increase.

The ministry attributed the increase to the rise in consumption and household expenditures for non-fresh produce.

Local prices for vegetables and rice rose for the first time in 30 months, according to the Ministry’s report. This has driven inflation for the first quarter of this year up to 0.64%, it said and projected that for the second quarter, this rise will continue and will exceed 1%.

Probably nothing to do with artificially inflating the economy with borrowed money for mega projects and now they are in debt for the first time in a while.

The recent one and only raise in the daily minimum wage that amounts to an average annual increase of 0.2% since the minimum wage was established becomes irrelevant - as do the laborers who earn it.

Inflation should send baht down a bit, true?

It is just the current governments financial plan for all shoppers to help pay for those 'submarines'............ LOL...........

Inflation is linked partially to greed; particularly by those elite and friends of the government who own the the big retail chains.

Inflation comes back to burn the poor people on the bottom rung. But all the PM and the government do is go around throwing Thai Niyom free money at them to cheer them up and make them feel like their'e not being ripped off.

Sick and sad!
