Video: Lots of filming but no fining - Pattaya cop lets foreigners off with a warning

A clip on TV news showed the moments when a traffic cop pulled over two foreigners riding a motorcycle in the Thepprasit Road area of Pattaya.

He suspected they were drunk.

He pulled out the key from the ignition which prompted comments that he ought not to do that. Another policeman was filming the whole thing.

The cop concerned said he was within his rights as he suspected drink driving.

The clip ends with the traffic cop doing a selfie but no fines or further action taking place.

The foreigners were let off with a warning and sent on their way.

Well they are going the wrong way down the road, so good reason to pull them over on suspicion of being drunk :)

I have no problem with any of this. If everyone driving a motorbike on the wrong side of the road was arrested the roads would be a lot safer for the rest of us. The same would apply if all drunk/drugged drivers were arrested also. Whilst they are at it, perhaps they could also arrest all the Thais who double-park because they are too lazy to walk 10 yards to the nearest empty parking space. They cause most of the traffic hold-ups in town.

The fine should be for all who do it, if that is your grand solution.

I'm sure I posted this yesterday;

'False News - Pattaya Plod turning down easy money from farangs.'  This does not compute.
