Dear All,

Is it possible to get the VISA for parents (Mother and Father both) on the basis of Education VISA arranged by the letter issued from International school in Bangkok? Can both act as sponsor or only one is allowed?

Only one parent can get an extension of stay based upon being the parent of a child attending school. The child must be on an extension of stay not a non-ed visa.

The parent applying for the extension of stay must have 500k baht in a Thai bank for 30 days for the first application and then 90 days after that.

Both parents could get a non-o visa from an embassy or consulate.

If one parent has an non-O based on the child then the other parent cannot get a non-O.

The consulates position is that it's 1 non-O per child.

I have never been able to obtain a non-O based on child or marriage in Penang, HCMC or Athens.
