Extension of stay -- New passport

Featured Replies

Good morning.  I am currently here on a Tourist Visa extension.  I'm also in the process of getting a new passport (American) that will be ready 3 days before I fly to the States to get my new Non-B.  My extension expires on the same day as my flight to the US (3 days after my receive my new passport).

Here's my question: Do I need to rush to Chaeng Watthana to get the extension stamp transferred to the new passport before I exit the country, or can I just take both the cancelled passport with the extension stamp and the new passport to the airport?

I hope I have given you the info needed for an informed reply.  Thanks in advance for your advice.

You can do it on departure from the country.

You should have a letter from your embassy requesting the stamp transfer in case it is asked for.

No need to go to CW. Hand over both passports to the IO on exit from the country. They will transfer your stamp from the old passport to the new one, and stamp you out in the new one.
