Phil_ne_uk
On Tuesday after opening a sterling account I had to decide if I should wait two days to get my sterling bank account number to transfer into that account giving me control as to when to change it into baht, or just transfer my cash for my new house into my Baht account. I reckoned the good exchange rate wouldn’t last much longer so I decided to transfer my cash into my Baht account. So on Tuesday I emailed the swift form to my daughter in the UK, she posted it to good old Nationwide who fortunately for me, received it on Wednesday. On Thursday early evening I swiped my account book through the machine and my Baht was all in. I checked the rate and it works out I had 70.52 Baht to the pound. I guess my gamble paid off! It took Nationwide just two days to process the swift transfer. Had they taken an extra day it would have lost me almost 2000 pounds. It would be interesting to know how long have other people waited for their banks in the UK to process swift transfers? Is two days standard or are Nationwide bl**dy quick?
