Need help translating an address!!

I'm looking for some assistance in translating the following address:

The street probably doesn't have a name, so yes, number and number of the village is enough. My old address in the sticks was like that too.

 

Yes it can be shortened, indeed.

 

(The end of the name is -sap, not -tarap.)

I don’t trust local couriers to read English well or figure out how we transcribed stuff, local transcriptions might be ‘officially wrong’ and wrong for so long that they are now right.

for example my mistake with the name: Tarap but phonetic sound is best ‘sap’ or ‘saap’

It's indeed completely normal that addresses in small village have no street/soi names. The address has the same structure as here for our house (except for the lack explained below).

Literally this part of the address would translate as "house no. 164, neighborhood 1".

DON'T write it like this.

"164 M. 1" is completely sufficient.

 

And I always use the RTGS transcription.

I often get shipments/mail from within Thailand.

 

Correct house no. and "moo", village name(!).

Subdistrict/district/province and postal code.

Postal code is THE important startpoint as it makes sure that a postal mail lands at the right office for your district (amphoe).

 

Following this I would not expect problems with the post office.

Tel. no. is always a good idea for couriers or the like.

 

My version for a postal address:

 

PHONTHIP SUKDIRUAISAP
164 M. 1, BAN ?????
T. BANG LUK SUEA
A. ONGKHARAK
NAKHON NAYOK
20126

 

T=Tambon (subdistrict)

A=Amphoe (district)

I always use capital letters.

Makes it easier for Thai people to read.

 

??????:

what I really miss is a name of the village?

I could be the same as the Tambon name ("main" village).

But Bang Luk Suea has 12(!) villages.

Conclusion:

to me the address looks incomplete.

Unfortunately you are right.

Total confusion.

Ever seen "Phatthaya" (official) ?

No but I’ve seen Phattalung, same พัท beginning, that is the official signage there. Pattaya likely dropped the H because of foreign influence, foreigners would see no need to put in an H, * in my opinion :) waste of ink
