Just got in from Phenom Phen. Just to let you folks know it’s not going to be easy to get your Non-) of tourist VISA from Phenom Phen. Luckily I have my shit together but in my many years in Thailand I’ve never had to go thru anything like that! RUDE BASTARDS! I was able to pull my Non-D off in three full days but was told to go to Malaysia next time and they even applied a special stamp inside and stapled a small cardboard sign to the cover of my passport that reads exactly…

DO NOT APPLY NEW VISA AT PHNOM PENH AGAIN.

Now how’s that for hospitality…;-)

At the time they were NOT issuing any two month tourist visa’s period.

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!

Sorry to read what happened to you mate.

But if you read some more posts you should have known it is not a good place to gt anything.

Think it went that road after the thai embassey burning a few years ago.

They just do not want anything special happening over there,little understandable even.

About 7 years ago I got a double entry over there with no problems,it's a pitty though cause Angkor is amazing ,but i do not have something different to do there anymore when no visa's are given.

I was there as well eight years ago and had a totally different experience.

I also didn’t realize until my last visit that they moved the embassy a new location (now near the Japanese Embassy).

But surely there’s a better way to get the message across. I think it’s very unprofessional the way the hold on to you passport for three days like some sort of punishment and then ###### your passport up with this sign stapled to the front. Also what’s the justification for being so flat out rude to people?

After all I didn’t burn down the ######ing embassy I’m just an innocent bystander.

That's really the most bad way to get a message across.It's awful and they have no right to keep your passport for such a long time,it's property of the government where you come from.

And they do write in it that please let everybody in the particular country with protection and to be helpful.

Now not that they will interpetate this in that way,but i would stand for that and they have no way to do that.

Proberly not even would want that visa from them and just would take it elsewhere,if i had the finances.

All but all they treated you as trash,like you are one of the....they want to get rid of.

maybe it is a good idea to (for everybody who's reading this) to put a message in the suggestion box at the immigration places,about the disrespect treatment somedays.Not always like that though,personally I never had any difficulies at all.

Sometimes they(the immgr) judge on how somebody is looking,but the funny thing is that a so unbelievable filthy rich guy I know, looks like a cheap backpacker,they should consider their way of working cause that guy is the type they want so bad......

What I was writing about is not that bad,thai do listen,I opened my mouth at the local bank why they work so slowly,now they work considerably faster and ask me if it is better now.the village people have no idea,but it works.I do have some more examples,but will not bother you with that,I do think we have a topic here and farang should just kindly (but not to much kindly)talk ,cause they(IMMigration or whatever),actually are there for our service.

They need us,we need them as well,and if you put it in that way the way opens automatically.they are not supposed to work in that way

Wasting money is one thing,but to get any type of Thaivisa or others in Phnom Penh ,I use(ed) the service of a good hotel (like Cozyna hotel at Riverside).4-5 bucks more and you'll get your visa in the way you need it, overnight,however renderings are.Better spend a little more cash and don't waste your time at Thaiembassy.

Only depends on,what you have,more time or more money.All that stuff is working in the same way in SEA.
