Soldiers of the Burapha Taskforce based along the Cambodian border in Sa Kaew were on Wednesday helping repair homes damaged by severe storms in recent days.

Most of the damage in Wattana Nakhon district, particularly in Ban Sap Mek (Moo 4), involved roofs torn off and exposed furniture damaged by rain.

Colonel Theppitak Nimit, the taskforce’s deputy chief-of-staff, led troops in assisting administrative officials and community volunteers as the made repairs and distributed aid packages.

More danger could lie ahead, with the Meteorological Department warning on Wednesday morning of possible further thunderstorms, high winds and hail in the North and Central regions.

The warnings cover Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phayao, Phrae, Nan, Uthai Thani, Nakhon Sawan, Chai Nat, Sing Buri, Ang Thong, Ayutthaya, Kanchanaburi, Suphan Buri, Ratchaburi and Bangkok and vicinity.
