Stop off point between Khon Kaen and Hua Hin?

Featured Replies

Any ideas about a place to make a stop between KK and HH?

I know it's perfectly possible to do it one go but it would be nice to break the journey about halfway somewhere quiet, anywhere but BKK really.

Sent from my ZX81 using a dial-up modem.

Depending on how long you want to stop, Korat along Mitthraphap highway or a short detour to Ayutthaya would be good.

Korat is possibly a little too early a stop but Ayutthaya might be an idea.

Thanks

On highway 2 before going downhill there is this "Farm Chockchai".

On weekends and holidays it's pretty crowded.

But during other days it might be worth a visit.

They also seem to provide accomodation?

A nice area anyway.

Ayuthayya

On the way to Laos from Hua Hin last year, we stopped at Korat.  I found it perfect distance wise.  Also lots to see there and recommend a visit to Terminal 21 which is very impressive.

Sir James resort near Muak Lek is my favourite stopover.

Convenient, Lovely peaceful scenery over the golf course, and good facilities.

Not too expensive either.

I miss the location time and era of triple A and the road maps showing different routes, sites and lodgings.

EDIT;

OP     I have not seen dial up in  long time.      How does that work these days?   Is it a good service or the only one available in your area?

Last person I knew who used  dial up was  the   wealthy father of a  childhood friend who did not want to pay for anything he absolutely did not require.    I'm sure that doesn't  apply to you.

I would say Khao Yai, or Pak Chong...nothing much else between there and Bangkok. Anywhere past Bkk and you might as well keep going.
