Earliest extension for retirement visa

Featured Replies

I just wanted to check the earliest that I can extend my retirement visa. I have a lengthy overseas trip coming up and need to try and extend it before I go. Also, how long does it take? (assuming the paperwork is in order). I'm based in Phuket and have heard that it varies in some provinces.

If I recall correctly Phuket immigration uses the 30 days before the date your extension of stay (not a visa) ends rule as the earliest you can apply for it.

With a confirmed flight out to show most offices will do it earlier.

Phuket has been reported as having back the next day to pick up your passport after the application is accepted.

As above - but don't expect them to shift far from the 30days.

I live in Phuket for several years with extension of retirement 1 year.

I recommend you to read this.

When I asked several years ago, the answer was form 30 days before, not 45 days. I am not sure how flexible they are in case you already have flight ticket.

Apply a certain day and receive on the next working day at 13:00 (actually around 12:50).

Everybody have to visit office twice.

Make sure you get reentry permit.

You would be able to get reentry permit on the afternoon of the receiving day.
