The body of Karun Wansawang, an employee of the Royal Thai Forestry Department allegedly abducted by 10 armed men on Saturday, was found on Monday morning in a Mae Hong Son creek.

Five teams of police, forestry and district officials and paramilitary rangers, led by department deputy chief Jaresak Nantawong, made the discovery at 10.15am two kilometres from the Doi Wiang La Wildlife Conservative Area Office.

The body was sent to Khun Yuam District Hospital for an autopsy.

Karun’s motorcycle was found first in the Huai Sor Teu area, along with a device used to catch fish with electric shocks.

Karun’s wife, Orana Thipakham, 57, told police on Saturday afternoon he’d phoned her to say 10 armed men had seized him in Doi Wiang La Forest.

Karun, 55, worked for the department’s Forest Products Research Unit in Khum Yuam district.

Guessing they didn't abduct him for fun, it might be time to get an independent team to check the "books" and find out what he might have stumbled upon in his line of duty.

Ah huh...ransom demand?

something stinks bigtime, but never mind - it will pass.

Probably stumbled on another wildlife extermination party enjoying filling every moving thing with holes where any very large stools found as this may yield a big clue.
