So yes it may be a step in the right direction but this bill doesn't allow or recognise same sex marriage. This is the big step which is fair for all and should be implemented in any society anywhere

  • Great comment I agree 100%. The only people against this are close minded and / or religious freaks. Nothing wrong with giving rights to same sex partnerships.

As long as a child has a loving, caring home where they are happy, the gender and sexual identity of the parents is irrelevant.

Reading your previous posts I have no idea why you are even living in Thailand... I mean.. here you ARE living in a society made up of a lot of different people, cultures, sexual orientations, colours, religions, political views, etc... unless you are just living inside you condo alone with no friends or socialisation with humans... (actually reading through you previous posts this might be quite likely what you are doing).

I don't c how you come to that conclusion?

all  the "different people" you stated are pretty much present anywhere in the world now days so it's

same as anywhere I have lived, I choose the people I want to hang out with or be surounded by and avoid the ones I don't.

isnt that what everybody does??

People who approve of how a man <deleted> a man are very strange people. Even more ridiculous is the fact that the government is seriously considering the laws that one man can not only <deleted> another man, but also officially live with him, but at the same time in the country toys for adults are banned. lol

Well, in general it is not clear why to approve it at the legislative level? For example, prostitution is banned in Thailand, but this does not stop hundreds of thousands of prostitutes (male, female, ladyboys) from making money in Pattaya bars and other tourist destinations and other places.

Crowds of transvestites, crowds of gays - what awaits this beautiful country tomorrow? Reducing fertility and promoting the <deleted> of men in the ass as a normal way of life?

Idiots...

As i have said before i am not one to be Held "hostage" by words such as racist or bigot i am what i am and accept it 100% and i am not craving the all mighty "open minded" label like so many of you out there to gain acceptance in the eyes of others.

for me racism for example Walks à very fine line tangled up somewhere between preference and patriotism. And like i have said also there are many different types of racism some born out of pure ignorance but i maintain that in some casses it is or can be justified.

Not loving or not wanting to live amongst all the different people in society is a right, the right of choice.

its as simple as that.

Being gay is not a choice, very much like being black is not a choice.

Racism is always borne out of ignorance and can never be justified.

People who want to forbid consulting adults what they do together in the privacy of their bedrooms are very strange people.

It's funny how often anti-gay bigots are so obsessed with anal sex.

First off, I don't see the relevance between being gay which is a sexual preference and being black??

And secondly, Stop repeating what you where tought without giving it some thought of your own.

If only it were in "the privacy of their own bedrooms" there wouldn't be a problem. the problem for me is glorifying it and making it normal or even worst, trendy.

Gay people are an identifiable minority group just the same as black people.

The way you put it it's the same as some people prefer one ice cream flavor over another.

Such "preferences" have no consequences in a person's overall life.

Being gay does just like being black does.

Whether "choice" or not isn't particularly relevant either. If you're gay, you're gay, and it's a much bigger deal than choice of ice cream flavor.

A sexual preference is not a choice. Believe me, and please stop repeating what you heard from others and give it some thought of your own, after consulting with gay people.

It is in fact normal. Not for all people but for gay people. The problem with that some people are so concerned with what other people do, that they think they have a right to get involved and forbid them to do what does harm to nobody.

They are two completely different things that cant vent be compared (omg what an insult to blacks)

your ethnicity what ever it may be is passed on by many factors your parents and ancestors not to mention place of origin, climate, etc.

when your gay you just have some effed up chromosomes.

Oh, and I never mentioned ice cream flavors to compare to people you did.

nice try there but what a long shot

Most people consider themselves or what they do normal. Either because they surround themselves with the same type of people which makes them feel comfortable or normal or they are just insane and live in their own little bubble with no regards to others past or present. Ask a crazy person in a mental institute if he thinks he is normal? Well Of course he is.

c what I mean?

Stop pushing your fake science. Dude, you know what you're promoting? Hatred, ignorance, and bigotry. You don't like gay people, that's cool, but spreading your ignorance, NOT COOL.

Intolerance of intolerance is not intolerance.

You're actively promoting your bigoted, ignorant views on gay people.

I'm supposed to like that?

C'mon then. Define what normal is exactly.

I think you protest too much.......?

It has nothing to do w science it was actually humor more than anything else. I didn't need sciences help on that one because the two things you chose to compare were totally irrelevant.

and again for the 100th time I don't dislike gays. I dislike the fact that homosexuality is being force fed to us (just as many other topics now days) and that we have no choice but to promote it and make it seem the new norm (when it's not and never will be) or be called a bigot or other insults.

It's all about political votes that's it they don't care about our rights wether we are straight, gay, black, or white. It's all political and if you can't see this I'm sorry but u the ignorant one.

If I was a gay man and wanted to marry a  man I would invite my friends to a ceremony,  say our vowels a e i o and u and just get married.  Why would I need anyone's permission? I don't see a problem.

A government certificate is a piece of paper., means nothing.  Love., now that's where it's at people. If you want to marry for love then do it.  Dont let anyone stop you.

I can understand your point.

Along those thoughts,

For me,  I kinda feel awkward when around two gay men that may be kissing or acting camp. I don't hate them.  But I wonder if they feel the same awkwardness when they see me kiss my girl.

So why shouldn't gay people have the same choices as others? Answer. No good reason. Straight people don't need to get officially married either but many choose to.

Personally I think it's ridiculous not to allow LBGQAR the same rights across the board as anyone including marriage recognition,  but I don't understand why it's so upsetting to them. Who cares what other people think.  If you love someone,  Marry them.  You don't need the government.

Normal is to treat everybody equally. If you were treated with fewer rights than your neighbour, you would protest too.

If that's humour it's not funny. Homosexuality is not being forced on you - nobody wants you to become gay. Heterosexuality is being forced on us, though. Why?

It's doesn't make us feel awkward because we have seen men and women kissing form a young age, and nobody told us it was bad. You have not seen men kissing men from a young age, or you were told it is bad, that's why it makes you feel awkward. It is really only your upbringing that makes you feel that.

Well, I do need the government to give me the same legal rights that straight married couples have. For example the right to visitation and making decisions in case of one spouse being in hospital, inheritance right etc. And, in case of Thailand, the marriage visa so that you can stay here if you do not have a work permit.

Very good point.  And a very interesting one.  If I was introduced to killing people and did that a lot growing up it would be normalised in my brain so it's still very hard for me to know what is wrong from right when analysing why one makes the decisions they do . But somehow I still manage to realize that all humans should be treated with respect and the same rights. Sometimes animals are treated better than humans. And one thing for sure, while studying human race.  None of us are perfect. Each of us strives to our own individual unique perfection.
