Is it possible to use this method for obtaining a one year extension based on marriage if my income is from my job in Thailand, or is it only from income from U.S. sources?

The affidavit is only accepted for income earned outside of the country.

If working legally you can show a work permit and tax payment receipts to prove the 40k baht income needed to apply for the extension.

I have enough in the bank as well but I’ve heard I need to go twice to Immigration. Once to apply for the extension and then after 60 days to prove I still have the money. Is this right?

all 'married' mans yearly extension require a 30 days under consideration stamp, the money would have to be in the bank for 60 days before applying

When the application is accepted you will be given a under consideration stamp with a report back to date 30 days from the date you applied or from the end of your current permit to stay dependent upon the office where you apply. The under consideration period is for the regional immigration headquarters to approve your application.

You do not have to show financial proof after the application is accepted. It only has to be in the bank for 2 months before the date you apply.
