Thai woman accuses renowned lawyer of stealing 1.8 million baht
A Thai woman came forward to expose a renowned lawyer who tricked her into signing a power of attorney document, stealing 1.8 million baht from her in the process. The 47 year old victim, identified only as Ple, sought help from non-profit organisation Saimai Survive to retrieve the 1.8 million baht from the well-known lawyer, whose name was not made public. In this case, Ple explained that she lent her neighbour 3.6 million baht, and the neighbour signed a contract to repay the debt within two years. However, the debtor only paid her 300,000 baht and begged her to extend the repayment period. Ple said she agreed to the debtor’s request but still did not receive her money. As a result, she hired a lawyer in September 2015 to sue her neighbour over the debt. In 2017, the Nakhon Pathom Provincial Court ordered the debtor to pay her 3.3 million baht. Ple then signed a power of attorney document allowing the lawyer to conveniently follow up on the repayment on her behalf. However, the lawyer allegedly used this power illegally for his benefit. Ple disclosed that she repeatedly asked the lawyer about her money but he told her that the debtor had not yet paid, claiming the debtor was waiting to sell valuables to repay the debt. Ple eventually sought the truth from the Legal Execution Department and discovered that the debtor already paid more than 1.8 million baht but the money went to the lawyer. Moreover, her lawyer also took a bribe of 50,000 baht from the debtor to manipulate the case in the debtor’s favour. Saimai Survive added that this was not the first accusation against the lawyer. The organisation revealed a complaint from another victim in October last year, alleging that the lawyer failed to pay home rent for over a year. The organisation has promised to help Ple seek justice and retrieve her money, but the next steps in their operation were not disclosed in the report. CNG and LPG vehicles face crackdown after tragic school bus fire
thailand faces one major issue: corruption! regardless of the area that needs urgent improvement, deeply entrenched corruption, often passively accepted by many thai people, obstructs progress. thailand's biggest battle was and will be against corruption, as everything is interconnected. without addressing or at least reducing corruption, nothing will improve in the long term ... it has nothing to do with a lack of education or not existing laws; it's purely about corruption! -

Most voters support Trumps Mass Deportation of Illegals, Pew Survey
More distortions from you. I named 3 specific industries, meat processing, dairy, and hosing construction. And then you offer a misleading selection of quotes. Did you think I wasn't going to look the article that link led to. Let's take a look at it. Or maybe you just forget to include this from Francesc Ortega: "Ortega said that history doesn’t support the view that undocumented workers can easily be replaced by those in the country legally. There is little historical evidence of how a deportation program like the one contemplated by the Trump campaign would impact an economy, he said, because nothing on that scale has been attempted in a modern developed country." Ortega goes on to describe that the only somewhat similar deportation program took place in the 1960's. And the result wasn't more hiring of Americans. Instead the did more automation and/or switched crops. So it didn't look like lots of Americans were waiting to take those jobs. But what makes your use of quotes really low, is the second quote. " these workers could be replaced by the more than seven million working-age men who are legally in the country but not in the labor force." Since you don't identify who said it, it looks like it's coming from Ortega. Actually it's from Steven Camarota, the director of research at the vociferously anti-immigrant organization Center for Immigration Studies. "Reports published by CIS have been disputed by scholars on immigration, fact-checkers and news outlets, and immigration-research organizations. The organization had significant influence within the Trump administration,[3] which cited the group's work to defend its immigration policies.[4] The Southern Poverty Law Center designated CIS as a hate group with ties to the American nativist movement.[5] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Center_for_Immigration_Studies One of its two cofounders was John Tanton, a white nationalist. The same noxious party who founded FAIR. -

Eastar Jet resumes daily flights to Chiang Mai in December
South Korea’s budget airline, Eastar Jet, is bringing back its daily flights to Chiang Mai after a pandemic-induced hiatus. The airline confirmed that from December 19, it will resume the Busan-Chiang Mai route, offering travellers a convenient link between two major cities known for their tourism and event-hosting prowess. Using a Boeing 737-800, with a capacity of 189 seats, the flights will provide a much-needed boost to both South Korea’s second-largest city, Busan, and Thailand’s second-largest, Chiang Mai. Busan, famous for its beaches, seafood, and vibrant festivals, will once again connect seamlessly with Chiang Mai, a cultural and historical gem nestled in northern Thailand. Both cities rely heavily on tourism, incentive travel, and conventions, and this flight resumption couldn’t come at a better time. Flight ZE947 will depart Busan at 6pm local time and touch down in Chiang Mai at 9pm Thailand time, while the return flight ZE948 will leave Chiang Mai at 10.20pm, arriving back in Busan at 6.05am local time the next day. Eastar Jet, founded in 2009 and based in Seoul, has a history of serving passengers with affordable fares. Having started with a domestic route between Gimpo and Jeju, it now operates flights to 14 destinations across eight countries. The revival of this international route highlights the resurgence of post-pandemic travel demand, reported TTR Weekly.
