Uk Citizen Requires Tourist Visa 6 Months

Featured Replies

He there,

I have a friend who is a teacher in korea. he wants to come to thailand for 5 or 6 months straight from korea. I guess he needs a tourist triple 3 x 60 days. How can he get this if he isn't returning home to the uk beforehand. Would there be a thai embassy in south korea where he can get it on his uk passport.

I know he can get the 3 months for free but he requires a longer stay.

Thanks in advance.

The Thai embassy or any Thai consulate in Korea is the place to apply for the tourist visa. If he is given a tourist visa for only one entry, before the 60 days of his entry on the tourist visa are over he can apply at any immigration office in Thailand for a 30-day extension (fee 1,900 Baht). After that, he then has two options to make his stay in Thailand as long as 6 months:

1. Travel to a Thai consulate in a nearby country (avoid Burma, Cambodia and Manila) and get a new tourist visa. If necessary, in Thailand apply again for a 30-day extension.

2. Do border runs for visa-exempt entries, each entry giving permission to stay for 30 days. Maximum of 90 days visa-exempt stay permitted within 180 days.
