BANGKOK — A group of patients protested before the health ministry Thursday after a controversial folk healer threatened to stop distributing an alleged cancer cure which officials there dismissed as a hoax.

Saengchai Haelerttrakul said on Wednesday that he feels discouraged and might stop distributing his traditional medicine despite alleged nationwide demand, after official lab results revealed his herbal pills cannot cure cancer.

seriously - this guy is the lowest of the low, feeding off destitute sick people very few if none at all are around to testify how his scam cured them because it didn't, yes what harm if he is offering everything for free....but he isn't, what he is doing is quite frankly sickening, this is without doubt the most disturbing thing I have ever seen going on in Thailand, it takes scamming to a whole level that is likely unmatched anywhere on this earth past and present

It is free once a month .........................I would get a ban if I said what I wanted to say about this (deleted)

Many people will do almost anything to preserve the life of a loved 1.

This man is peddling hope, his so-called miracle cure is just a placebo.

Yet many people believe it can cure cancer, because that is what they want to believe.

There are different ways to look at what he is doing, people take his pills and think they feel better because they want it to work.

Another way to look at it is he is just a charlatan, conning people to make money.

Before you start shouting about they are given free,, he is activily requesting donations to help cover his costs.

Now some people are giving large donations, thinking his pills are a miracle cure.

I suppose those people who had taken his concoction and died, really cant testify that it doesnt work

Posturing by "mor" Saengchai, methinks; threatens to withdraw treatment so "the faithful" will demand he doesn't; takes the focus off the fact they don't work.

Why discouraged? Just diversify and go into Religion or Politics, or both! "Faith Healer leads new People Power Health Party"

Just to be clear

The original story about this scam artist was that he gave the medication to people free "one day a month" (how wonderful), now the word donation is mentioned making it look like nobody has to pay if they don't want too, I don't believe that for one minute.

How about nobody pays until it works if he is so confident in his product - that way he will be very rich very quickly ...........right ?

Like have already stated in my previous post - this as far as I'm concerned is the lowest of the low, praying on vulnerable people who are going to die from a dreadful incurable disease, as far as scammers go in Thailand this low life is right at the top IMO - nobody else comes close

Please do not modify someone else's post in your quoted reply, either with font or color changes or wording.

Try charging money for them and see how popular they still are.

I wish an equivalent body or authority could do some tests to determine whether or not amulets prevented road accidents.

That would be entertaining.

The remaining issue is whether Saengchai will file a defamation suit against the Health Ministry. Obviously, his reputation has been greatly damaged.

Yeah...scientific facts!

Booooooooooh!

I just sacrificed a red Fanta at the tree in front of my house!

Booooooh!
