canthai55
Weird. Bought both my PCX and CRF from Nat Motors CNX. Happy with the service. Maintenance book supplied by them lists last sked service for 10K km. Done. But they want me to bring it in every 2500 km for oil change and filter. Honda service manual says 12K km service - or yearly. Just noticed this as was looking to when I last bought a filter for oil change. Anyone else experienced the same with their local dealer ? Crossy
Page 87 http://www.hondampe.com.au/docs/owning_a_honda/owners_manuals/motorcycles/Scooter_PCX125_2011.pdf says every 8000 km or 12 months for the PCX. Page 47 http://campaigns.hondampe.com.au/Motorcycles/manuals/CRF230F.pdf says every 1000km for the CRF. But do check for your exact model http://www.hondampe.com.au/repository/owning_a_honda/owners-manuals/motorcycles.aspx
canthai55
CRF250 is what I have. Service manual and owners manual say oil and filter change 1 6 12 24 36 K km
Crossy
Seems long for a small engine. But if that's what the manual says.
papa al
Wow. papa would gravitate to 2.5Kkm interval before 12Kkm. Better be using some 100% synthetic oil then. Very strange.
cornishcarlos
Once a year for my Wave, whether it needs it or not :) Cost peanuts, so why wouldn't you !!

taninthai
1500 km is a crazy time frame that would be a service every month for me,,,,,usually once a year enough for me , probably equals to some where between 8-10,000 km

canthai55
In the OP was wondering if any other Honda shops recommend such frequent oil changes, much more often than the service manual requires. Have not heard of any others, so will put it down to this dealership alone.
VocalNeal
CRF230F is a more off-road based bike. The oil also lubricates the transmission and as such is subjected to shear force which is not the case in CVT scooters. Every 1000 seems a lot but you'd have to ride a lot off-road to get 1000kms.
