They will do the 7 days to leave the country. They do it all the time when people just need a few more days to avoid a overstay.

I would think there would be enough room for a small stamp somewhere in your passport.

Do they let you keep the old passport, whilst your application is being processed?

Can confirm that, I still have my old passport, new one is being processed. Good thinking on the part of the Home Office, that gap could be really awkward.

This is where you need to find someone in Thailand to countersign your passport pictures.

 

Am I right in thinking you can leave this section blank, if you think you're appearance hasn't changed much in 10 years?

It took 2 weeks to get the UK passport back. You get the old one back while the other one is being processed. Then return with the old one to pick up the new one, it is clipped and returned to you.

 

Super fast. I used my Thai based credit card on the cc form.  No issues whatsoever.
