The Judge

Saw this one yesterday and really enjoyed it.

Great performances, especially by Robert Duvall.

From IMDB: Big city lawyer Hank Palmer returns to his childhood home where his father, the town's judge,

is suspected of murder. Hank sets out to discover the truth and, along the way, reconnects with his estranged family.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1872194/?ref_=nv_sr_1

A tad clichéd but still a solid 7.5 from me.

I was a tad disappointed in this one KhunWill. A bit too long for me, for the storyline it followed,

New BBC series started last night. Called "The Missing" about a couple who's six year old son goes missing whilst on holiday in France. Starring James Nesbit.

I enjoyed this first episode and hope, like most British crime series, that it will only get better.

Very nice call on The Missing Patsycat.

Just finished episode 1 and thought it was superb.

British TV at it's best.

+1

Great find. Pilot episode was terrific

I agree with you about the length. About 30 minutes too long but I still found

it enjoyable. Billy Bob Thornton is always a treat to watch.

It was either watch a movie or the cricket. Guess which won?

Billy Bob was probably on screen for 15 minutes tops. The dying scene at the end was totally over the top and unbelievable.

Dying scene with the pet Labrador you mean, of course.

Speaking of Billy Bob.

He appears as in a guest role in the latest episode of Big Bang Theory

That was him? Was having an argument on my flight home on Friday about that... Got quite heated actually... I feel quite vindicated about it now, thankfully I wasn't detained :P

I liked it too. Robert Downey Jr.'s character was a real dick in the beginning, but I started to like him after a while.

Think I've found one here Trend Setters.

Gomorrah

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2049116/?ref_=nv_sr_1

This one took a little time to grow on me but I'm really into it now.
A realistic, gritty Italian crime series.

Movie Info
Five stories weave together to form director Matteo Garrone's Gomorrah,
a violent look at the cruel reality endured by the residents of the Province of Naples.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2049116/?ref_=nv_sr_1

If you like organized crime shows, do yourself a favour and have a look.

Well it is Italian.

I'd rather have subtitles than voice dubbing any day.

Only pointing out the fact that it has subtitles, never said I wouldn't watch it.

Just downloaded "make Leicester British" where immegrants live and interact with Britiah people and immegrants ,well i couldnt stop myself shouting at the tv ,most were pretty decent the most "British " being Indian Hindu immegrants that had come over in the 60s no benifits then ,but they all worked hard and integrated ,the Poles seemed to be working hard and integrating as well ,then We came to the Muslim Somalian woman ,she could not stay in a house where a strange man (even though he was married to the Indian woman ) overnight ,but it didnt seemed to have stopped her having four illegitamate kids by some man or men ,living on massive benifits ,nice house ,new car and the kids had i pads ,came to Britain in her teens and had never worked a day and proud of it .not hard to see why Britain is overun by this kind ,Never integrated like the rest ,no intention of ever doing so ,just take take take . download from the bay where pirates play ,.

In November Man, former James Bond, Pierce Brosnan, looks better at 57 than most guys do, but it's still getting tiring and unbelievable watching former actions stars of that age and older outpunching, outkicking and outrunning guys 30 years younger as CIA spies.

Anyway, still ok brainless entertainment even with a weak script etc.,, and gets a 6.3 on IMDB. It's on PB, (but seeing as how co-founder just got arrested in Thailand, maybe I should quit referencing that.) tongue.png

Saw the second episode of The Missing last night.

I think this is going to be a great series. Maybe one of the best in a while.

Thanks for that Patsycat, it's hard to keep up sometimes.

In the meantime, for all of you BBC crime lovers, am half way through

a 4 part series called What Remains and I have to say it's pretty pretty good.

This one was a bit of a slow burner for me. Took me until episode 4

to really get into it.

Finished it last night (12 episodes) and was really impressed. As good as I've

seen for a while.

The Judge was great, apart from the fact that Robert downey seems to speak very fast. I got over the subtitles after about five minutes and that rather annoying blinking light in the top right hand corner. Great film, i like those sort of family drama type films - so if you have any more to recommend please let me know. As you know, i hate sci fi and anything to do with some sort of neck biting thing films.

Now, an older film, that i watched last night was The Butler. I found it wonderful and touching and it educated me a bit too.

Tonight's viewing shall be a film called Frontera. Is this worth watching? Shise - you lot are already in la la land!!! If i watch it, still got the Chicago PD to view.

Frontera is not one of Ed Harris' better efforts. If you want to see him in a really good western try Sweetwater or Appaloosa.
