New Aussie Passport and Thai Retirement Visa

Featured Replies

Could I get a new Aussie Passport in Australia and use it to travel back to Thailand although my retirement visa is in my current passport (it is running out of pages and still current for 18 months)?

Yes. You need to show both passports when you re-enter and make sure the IO uses the "visa".

  • If by " retirement visa" you mean you have a 1 year permit to stay based on retirement you should go to immigration once you're back in the country and have it transferred to the new passport.
  • If you are referring to a multiple entry Non-Immigrant visa then that will stay in the old passport and you need to use both passports until the visa expires.
