WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said on Sunday that Washington would agree to lift sanctions on North Korea if the country agrees to completely dismantle its nuclear weapons programme, a move that would create economic prosperity that "will rival" that of South Korea.

Trainee airline employees caught stealing from German tourist at Krabi airport check-in counter

Sanook said that evidence from CCTV was clear that two trainee low cost airline employees had stolen a plastic wallet from a German tourist who left it on a counter as he checked in for a flight to Bangkok.

KUALA LUMPUR (Reuters) - AirAsia chief Tony Fernandes apologised on Sunday for endorsing Najib Razak ahead of Malaysia's general election, saying he had done so to appease the office of the then prime minister who eventually lost his bid for another term.

Thailand’s most tourist arrivals are ‘Others’.

 

When added together, all the arrivals for countries outside the top 10, outnumber the most popular nations contributing annual arrivals to Thailand. ‘Other’s arriving in Thailand in 2017 numbered 11,517,782 out of the 35,381,210 tourist arrivals last year.

SURABAYA, Indonesia (Reuters) - A suicide bomber on a motorbike wounded several Indonesian police outside a police building in Surabaya on Monday, a day after Islamist militants launched suicide attacks on churches in the country's second largest city, police said.

Female drug dealer arrested in Phuket Town

The arrest follows police receiving a tip-off that Saranya was selling drugs on the street

Border Patrol Police this week arrested 24 year old Saranya ‘Palm’ Arjmongkon at a condominium in Phuket Town. Police seized 29.51 grams of crystal methamphetamine (ya ice) and 355 methamphetamine pills (ya bah). She was charged with possession with Category 1 drug with intent to sell.

The Phuket Governor Norraphat Plodthong has had his first inspection of lifeguards at Mai Khao Beach. There are now five lifeguards at Mai Khao Beach, the long stretch of beach along the northern end of Phuket’s west coast.

Royal Ploughing Ceremony predicts good yields in lowlands

BANGKOK, 14th May 2018 (NNT) – This year’s Royal Ploughing Ceremony has predicted good yields in lowland farms but less than abundant yields in the highlands. 

His Majesty the King this year graciously appointed Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Lertviroj Kowattana to serve as Lord of the Ploughing Ceremony. He departed from in front of Wat Phra Sri Rattana Sasadaram at 7:19 a.m. for Sanam Luang with the year’s ceremony officially beginning at the auspicious time of 8:29a.m. upon the arrival of His Majesty the King.

The sacred oxen this year chose a piece of cloth measuring six palms, predicting low water, strong yields in lowland areas and low yields with some damage to crops in highland areas. 

Upon being offered seven dishes, the sacred oxen chose water and grass, forecasting adequate water as well as food and vegetation, and liquor, predicting improved transportation, foreign trade and a prosperous economy.

MRTA issues road chaos warning as construction coincides with school return
