TOKYO (Reuters) - The United Stated has demanded North Korea ship some nuclear warheads, an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) and other nuclear material overseas within six months, the Asahi newspaper said on Thursday, citing several sources familiar with North Korean issues.

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo also appeared to have told North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, when they met earlier this month, that Washington might remove Pyongyang from a list of state sponsors of terrorism if the North ships out those nuclear items, the Asahi said.

If Pyongyang agrees to complete, verifiable and irreversible denuclearisation at a planned summit with the United States on June 12, Washington is considering giving guarantees for Kim's regime and including that stance in a joint statement by the two leaders, the newspaper report said.

North Korea has thrown into question next month's unprecedented summit between Kim Jong Un and U.S. President Donald Trump, denouncing on Wednesday U.S.-South Korean military exercises as a provocation and calling off high-level talks with Seoul.

Do the US really think that making demands on this lunatic will have the slightest effect? No. In fact, it will make him flex his muscles even more and is close to telling the US to bug off. This all to show his impoverished, indoctrinated, captive and starving peoples how he can kick a power like the US around and seem to be their hero.

My advice to the US....shut the frig up, gag your National Security "Advisor"/troublemaker and go about this historic meeting quietly. Stop the shouting through the irresponsible US media...who will stop at nothing to get a scoop and all for letting the US people know?

Heck no. It all about ratings and money and charging more for advertising!

The estimate of North Korean nuclear devices is a low of 10-30 and the high of 30-60 .The cost to produce is very high and giving up any would be a sign of defeat for the North .Remember this is Asia with the "Face" thing in play.

Really? No matter what they got in exchange? You have to remember that with Trump they are dealing with a very bad negotiator. Given his past, I'd say it's a fair bet he'd give away a lot to get a little. And like you, hype it as a success.

Looks  like a  typical  "US  Trade Deal".

The  hype  that  gave birth to the  ridiculous  proposal  Trump  could be in line  for a   "Peace"  award presumably  was  based  on  the  stated "shut  down" on nuclear   arms  development.

As  even  the  Kim  boy said  that  now having  the capacity  to  send whatever  to  US  territory  was  satisfctory and  agreed  to end  further  tests.

So where  does  this  addendment  come from?  Send  us what you  have  or else?

Back to the brink !

They  may be  delivered !

Is it OK if the ICBMs arrive under their own steam?

I guess sending one to Bikini Atoll might be a better choice. Being in the Marshall Islands, it is an American colony; they've already had thousands of nuclear bombs launched at them from the USA!

Buyers are queuing up.

But His Donaldship's offer won't be accepted because he has a reputation for not paying. Heck, even the banks in the USA wont lend him money anymore because he is such a poor credit risk.

Washington is considering giving guarantees for Kim's regime

Using the Ukraine Model - give up nuclear weapons for safety guaranteed by the US and UK against Russian invasion? That's another history lesson Kim might know about.

I can understand your frustration at lunatic Trump, but I think if he can be removed  peace can prevail.

NK will never give up their weapons. Peace has got to be found another way. Otherwise I see an embattled NK trading nuclear technology for Iranian Oil as the US try's to cut them both off. Remember the old saying the Enemy of My Enemy............
