Amnesty demands early lifting of restrictions on political activities

Amnesty International on Tuesday demanded that the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) fulfil its promise to lift restrictions on political activities – in place since the 2014 coup – and remove them by the end of June.

Hazardous substances committee to rule on future of paraquat today

 

THE GOVERNMENT will have to take responsibility for the damage to people’s health and the environment and could face lawsuits if it allows the renewal of licences for paraquat and two other agro-chemicals, activists caution.

Saving Maya Bay

Locals in Rassada agree with monkey birth control and moving to nearby islands

Three years ago we started having monkey problems.

Today (May 22) a public hearing was held with the Tha Chin community in Rassada led by Director of the Natural and Wildlife Education Centre at Khao Phra Thaew Non-Hunting Area in Thalang Pongchart Chouehorm. More than 180 locals joined in the public hearing to discuss the monkey problem in the area.

Man found dead in Rassada lagoon

Police believe he might have fainted as the weather was very hot and fallen into the lagoon.

The body of a 66 year old man has been discovered in a lagoon in Rassada. Phuket City Police were notified of the incident at a lagoon inside a housing estate in Rassada by Kusodharm rescue workers at 5pm yesterday (May 21).
