This site is having major issues

It's coming close to a week of mayhem wirh this site. On two devices the problems persist. I'm not talking about the odd glitch I'm referring to:

 

Notifications do not load once I try to see the alerts. 

 

Virtually every thread I try to read reports: mysql has gone away error 500

 

I'm seeing the error screen 8/10 times.

 

Never seen a forum operating as bad as this; anywhere.

Well with that and may other issues making this site unavailable so often I suspect that the sponsors may well be getting concerned that their audience is diminishing due to the members abandoning TV  perhaps. This can be seen by complaints made on other pages of the web easily googled.  Who knows ? but my biggest gripe is that the administrators see fit not to publish a general apology regarding non availability, its as if they do not care anymore
