Request for guidance and resources

Hello,

I apologize in advance if this material exists elsewhere, but I’m just beginning to explore the idea of living in Phuket.  I’ve been in Thailand for quite a while and I’ve been to Phuket several times.  Now I’m considering relocating from Bangkok to Phuket to live.  I have a few questions regarding information resources:

 

1.      In addition to this forum, are there any other Phuket expat oriented forums that are worthwhile?

2.     For condo rentals in Bangkok, I have found Hipflat to be the most valuable.  What do you recommend for Phuket?

3.     My priorities are proximity to a decent beach and a good western market (Tesco, Tops, etc).  Other that the Patong, are there any other areas I should be seriously considering?
