crazygreg44
I’ve got a Permit of Stay based on Retirement, valid until January 4 th, 2019, along with a Single Re-Entry Permit. I have just received a new passport and I am still in possession of the old passport with all the relevant stamps. I am planning a visit to Thailand for 29 days, from June 5 th thru July 3rd. My question: Would it make sense to enter by a 30-day-Visa-Exempt Entry in order to keep the Single Re-Entry valid ? A few days after my entry, I am planning to visit the Sisaket Immigration (my location) to transfer the stamps from the old to the new passport. Will it be a problem if they see the 30-day Exempt Entry in my new passport? Am I supposed to use the Single Re-entry on any visit to Thailand, no matter how long or short I plan to stay? BritTim
You must enter using your re-entry permit. If you do not, your existing non immigrant permission to stay will be dead, and Sisaket immigration will only have a permission to stay from a visa exempt entry to transfer. While at Sisaket immigration, remember to get a new re-entry permit also. Edited June 1, 2018 by BritTim
