Warning: contains some spoilers for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

Opening underwater like a Gungan scene in the Star Wars prequels, this sequel to Jurassic World takes us back to Isla Nublar, three years after the park was decimated by the Indominus Rex. Despite that fiasco and the large loss of life, the bounty hunters who have turned up looking for spoils are still a little too gung-ho for their own health, as the island isn't as uninhabited as they expect.

It's a great scene-setter that puts the action front and centre. So far, so Jurassic Park.

The high-octane feel continues from there, as Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard) guilts Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) into returning to the island to rescue his beloved raptor Blue, before an out-of-control volcano kills every living thing.

Given my aversion to Sequelitis, I'm unabashedly rooting for the volcano!
