I only need 30 more days...options??

Featured Replies

I need to stay just one more month and I have a non-imm o visa based on marriage. Is it possible to extend this visa inside Thailand for one more month and if so what documents will I need to do this? Or can I cross over from Mae sai to tachilet at the land border and receive a 30 day visa exempt stamp? Somebody said they only received entry for 10 days. I must exit by June 12th.

You can apply for a 60 day extension to visit your wife. She will need to be with you when you apply.

You will need your marriage certificate plus a copy, copies of your wife's book registry and ID card. You will need proof of residence if not living where your wife's house book is for.

You would get a 30 day visa exempt entry at Mae Sai. The 15 day rule was rescinded in January of last year.

You can get a 60 day extension (1,900 baht) from your local office. Your wife will need to go with you.

The documents can vary between offices, but here’s a basic list:

  • Original marriage certificate plus signed copy.
  • Signed copies of wife's ID and Tabien Baan (house registration book)
  • Signed copies of your passport pages: ID page, visa, entry stamp, departure card.
  • 1 x photo 6 x 4.
  • Maybe proof of address if you don’t live st the address your wife is registered at.
  • Maybe form TM30. This is the form used by the Owner/House-master to report that you are staying with them.

Thank you for that information.... I really just need the 30 days and would rather not pay the 1900 baht if I don’t have to.

A visa run will cost you 500 baht plus the travel costs.
